To combat the consequences of the aging copper pipes and corroded connections throughout this 1,800 sq. ft. house, we proposed a full replacement. We replaced approximately 170 feet of old copper supply lines with 195 feet of new red and blue PEX piping. This involved reconnecting the lines in the bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry area. We also finished some minor patching.

This project at a single-family home focused on the aging hot and cold water lines and several leaking connections. Instead of making more temporary repairs, the clients wanted us to update the old supply piping. We used 190 feet of new red and blue PEX lines, which are easy to fit in accessible areas for the two bathrooms, the kitchen, and laundry fixtures. We also pressure-tested the new system for the whole 1,600 sq. ft. property in the end.

We worked on this 1,700 sq. ft. waterfront home in Jupiter Inlet Colony when the homeowners were doing a renovation. They discovered aging copper supply pipes while remodeling their bathrooms and kitchen. With the walls already open, our work became pretty easier than usual. We replaced approximately 150 feet of old piping with 165 feet of new copper lines. We also helped reconnect the fixtures and pressure-test the system before the renovation continued.

Polybutylene pipe replacement is a priority for any home remodeled or partly replumbed between the late 1970s and mid-1990s. The gray plastic breaks down from the inside as chlorine works on it, so it can split with no outside warning. Newer rebuilds, like some of the homes that replaced older properties on Lighthouse Drive, usually skip this issue entirely. For everyone else, we trace every polybutylene line and replace it.
Cold water line replacement is often the right call when leaks start showing up in more than one room. These lines feed most of the fixtures you use every day, so a failing cold side affects the whole house quickly. Since the town has grown very little since the early 1970s, many homes still have original cold lines that are well past their prime. We replace them on their own when the hot side is still healthy.

A whole-house repipe makes the most sense in homes built during the town’s first wave in the late 1950s and 1960s. It's also our top service in Fort Pierce, FL. Back then, galvanized steel and early copper were standard, and after six decades, both tend to fail in more than one place. We replace every supply line in one coordinated project. You end up with a single, consistent system instead of a patchwork.
Emergency repiping is for those times when several lines fail at once, and patching won’t hold. We stop the active leaks first, then map out the replacement so your water comes back as fast as possible. For any emergency repiping needs, our team reaches homes across town quickly via Beach Road, which doubles as County Road 707.
Copper is a favorite for homeowners who want a rigid system with a long track record. The catch here is salt air, since about 22% of the town’s area is water between the Atlantic, the Jupiter Inlet, and the Intracoastal. We route new copper inside the home whenever possible to keep it protected. It does cost more and takes longer to install than PEX, so we’ll walk you through the trade-off before you decide.
We most often recommend PEX in Jupiter Inlet Colony. The town sits in a tropical savanna climate, one of the only true tropical zones in the continental U.S., and PEX doesn’t corrode in that kind of heat and humidity. PEX repiping also bends through attics and walls with fewer fittings, which means smaller openings in finished rooms. Fewer fittings also means fewer spots where a leak can start down the road.
Galvanized steel is the material we pull out most often from the town’s original homes. Rust builds up inside it for decades until water turns brown and pressure fades at every tap. Our team swaps it for copper or PEX during the repipe, so none of the old steel stays behind in the walls.
Mixed pipe materials are common in homes that have been patched or remodeled several times since the late 1950s. Where copper meets galvanized steel without the right fitting, the two metals react and corrode faster at the joint. Plastic spliced into old metal lines creates weak spots too. Replacing everything with one material removes those trouble points for good.
Our first visit is about understanding the full system, not just the leak that got you to call. We look at pipe material, test pressure at several fixtures, and check exposed joints for corrosion. It’s the classic measure twice, cut once approach, and it keeps us from replacing pipe that still has years left.
Small streets like Beacon Lane, Shelter Lane, Treasure Place, and Colony Road call for a bit of extra planning. Our crew keeps trucks and materials organized so neighbors can still get in and out. We also keep noise and dust down, since homes here sit close together.

Repiping permits go through the Town of Jupiter Inlet Colony. Our team confirms what your project needs and schedules any inspections around the work. That keeps the paperwork from holding anything up.
A full repipe here usually costs between $4,000 and $15,000, while partial jobs run about $2,500 to $5,000. Most whole house projects take 2 to 4 days, with water typically back on each evening. Before we leave, every connection is pressure-tested, every fixture is checked, and PSL Whole House Repiping gives you a summary of what we replaced.
